Bushwalking Difficult Tracked Trained Participant (TP)

Bushwalking Difficult Tracked Trained Participant (TP)

To help provide clarity about how Adult Leaders, Rover Scouts and Venturer Scouts can obtain AA skills to support engagement in and delivery of the Youth Program, documented training pathways for each pursuit area have been created.

Due to the popularity of bushwalking, we have separated content.

Alert
Note all Trained Participant pathways require the TP Core booklet to be completed prior to issuing the skill specific appointment.
Once you hold TP Core you do not need to repeat it.

There are three options for Bushwalking Difficult Tracked Trained Participant (TP) appointments.
You do not need to hold Bushwalking Tracked Safe Participant (SP) if selecting Option 1 or 2.

Option 1: A professional conversation with a Bushwalking Guide known to you. This is particularly useful if you have been actively participating in bushwalks in a scouting environment supporting with overnight hikes and lightweight hiking. Complete the Trained Participant Bushwalking Recognition of Proficiency (ROP) document and return it to aa.pathways@scoutsqld.com.au

Option 2: Demonstrate your knowledge. This is a good option if you have bushwalking experience but may not know a Bushwalking Guide. Complete the following documents:
  1. Bushwalking Difficult Tracked TP - Knowledge Capture sheet
  2. Navigate in Difficult Tracked environments - Knowledge Capture sheet
  3. Evidence of one overnight bushwalk within the last 3 to 5 years on a grade 4 track (Logbook or activity capture sheet)
Option 3: Check out the branch calendar and find a suitable two-day overnight hike course to join called Bushwalking Difficult Tracked TP.
Updated Training Pathway document coming here soon.
