Campsite Rules - Tyamolum Campsite

Foreword

Tyamolum Scout Campsite has been proudly owned by Scouts Queensland for over 60 years. The property covers 55 hectares in the foothills of the southern tip of the D’Aguilar Range.  It also shares a common boundary with the Moggill Conservation Park providing an uninterrupted stretch of natural wildlife corridor, through into the D’Aguilar National Park. Tyamolum offers a wonderful base for many activities including overnight journeys, day bushwalking into the surrounding national parks. 

Rubbish

Please take all rubbish with you. Under no circumstances, that rubbish should be buried or left behind.
Additional charges may apply when your booked site is left in an unsatisfactory condition.

Fires

DO NOT LEAVE FIRES UNATTENDED
    1. Have a clear space of 2 metres around fire.
    2. Do not start fire under shelter.
    3. Use an existing fire circle.
    4. Gas, Camping Stove or BBQ is allowed. 
    5. Use water to put out fire. DO NOT USE SOILto avoid the soil underneath and around, from retaining heat. 
    6. Have a bucket of water beside a fire as source for first aid and to prevent spot fires.
    7. Fuel – Windfall, such as dead branches, old stumps etc on the ground. Use enough timber for the job at hand. Bring any necessary tools for cutting deadfall. 
  • Pets

    Dogs are the only pet allowed on site.
    The campsite is a designated flora and fauna park hence dogs must not be permitted to run loose and must either be on a lead or within pens.

    Please clean up after your own dogs. 

    Land for Wildlife 

    The campsite is a designated flora and fauna park hence green timber may not be cut or damaged without prior approval. 
    The campsite has been recognised as a valuable habitat for wildlife and native plants.
    Please do not handle or feed the wildlife. The campsite is their natural habitat to enjoy good health. Please do not upset the wildlife and their natural habitat.
    Please do not damage or remove any vegetations alive or dead, as this can be habitats of the wildlife.

    Drugs and Alcohol

    • Smoking is prohibited in all buildings and within 4 metres of any building entrance on the campsite. Cigarette butts must be disposed safely. 
    • Leaders, Youth Members or other adults over 18 years of age must not smoke in the presence of Youth Members.
    • All Scouts Member of the Campsite and Activity Centre must adhere to the Scout Association of Australia Queensland Branch Inc.'s ruling in relation to the consumption of alcohol.
      The consumption of alcoholic beverages and other performance affecting drugs by Adult Members prior to or during a day-to-day or adventurous activity is prohibited.
    • No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed when Scouts are in the vicinity.
    • The possession and or use of any banned or illegal substances is strictly prohibited.

    Incidents  

    1. Scouting - All incidents must be reported and documented as per Queensland Branch Scouting Instructions 
    2. Non-Scouting - An incident report is to be completed in duplicate with the original left with Management, covering any accident / incident on the property at any time.
      Forms available from the office on site.

    Toilet Facilities

      1. The amenities block is for campers and visitor use.

      2. They are uni-sex toilets. Please check before entering and observe normal rules of decency towards other campsite users. 

      3. The toilets are using septic tank system. Please use toilet paper only.

      4. Please ensure toilets are left clean after use.

    Bunk Beds

    To comply with the Fair Trading (Safety Standards) Act 2011, the Australian Standard AS/NZS 4200:2012 “Bunk beds and other elevated beds” and Scouts Queensland Policy:
    1. Only persons 9 years of age and over may use the upper bunk beds. 
    1. No playing on bunks at any time. 

    Buildings and Amenities  

    1. No tables and chairs, etc. to be removed from buildings. 
    1. Please do not waste power, turn off lights and flood lights when they are not required. 
    1. All buildings hired for exclusive use must be left clean and tidy prior to departure.
      1. Tables and chairs must be stacked.
      2. Doors and windows must be closed and locked.
      3. Kitchen floors are to be mopped.
      4. Refrigerators / freezers emptied, cleaned turned off and left open.
      5. All utensils must be cleaned and returned to their respective storage/location. 
    1. All breakages, damages or losses are the hirers responsibility and will be charged to the account which must be settled with Management prior to departure unless prior arrangements are approved. 

    Camping

    Camping is limited to a maximum of 14 continuous days during any one stay. The patron must leave the site after the 14th day. 
    Following any stay, there must be a minimum two (2) days away from any Scouts Queensland property, before being allowed to return.
