Campsite Terms and Conditions
The purpose of this document is to define commercial terms and conditions related to all campsites and activities operated by The Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch Inc. ABN 67 019 153 391 (Scouts Queensland)
1. Core Terms
13. Supervision of Campers
13.1. Campers must have a supervising adult over the age of 18 years present at all times, unless it is specifically related to an official approved Scouting activity, as defined in Scout Queensland operating procedures.
13.2. Scouts Queensland reserves the right to prohibit entry to persons to our sites who do not meet the supervision requirements as defined in 13.1.
14. Visitor policy
14.1. Day visitors must report to the Caretakers or Activity Leader and may be required to pay a day use fee prior to entering the site.
15. Office Hours
15.1. The operating hours for the office shall be posted on site or as advertised but may be subject to change.
15.2. It is recommended that you allow yourself time to set up your tent or caravan before sunset so you have daylight hours to settle in. Please note that Queensland does not have Daylight Saving time.
16. Evacuation Plan
16.1. Please ensure you familiarise yourself with the evacuation plan for the site, in the event of an emergency.
16.2. A copy of the evacuation plan is located outside the campsite office or from the activity leader, where you check in.
16.3. In case of an emergency, please remain calm and follow instructions from staff and emergency services.
16.4. The emergency phone number for Fire, Police and Ambulance is 000.
17. Safety Plan
17.1. Scouts Queensland reserves the right to request safety documentation related to any booking. Safety documentation includes, but may not be limited to safety plans, risk assessment, incident reports. Failure to provide the documentation within a reasonable time frame may result in the cancelation of booking and forfeiture of any fees paid.
18. Camping or Activities Under Trees
18.1. Seemingly healthy branches can fail unexpectedly (“Sudden Branch Drop”). Healthy and well structured trees can and regularly fail during strong wind events due to the sheer force of the winds. Healthy and well structured trees can also uproot as a result of a SOIL FAILURE which would generally occur after a protracted period of heavy rains leaving the grounds sodden.
18.2. Should visitors decide to camp, place equipment, park vehicles or run activities under trees or with fall risk of trees they do so at their own risk. By acceptance of these terms and conditions visitors agreed to indemnify Scouts Queensland against Cost borne of Harm resulting directly or indirectly from an tree limb or tree falling:
19. Commercial Use of Site
19.1. There shall be no commercial use of Scout freehold or leasehold property without explicit written consent from Scouts Queensland
20. Media
20.1. The production of media for commercial purposes or public distribution is prohibited without the explicit written consent of Scouts Queensland. Any individual or group found to be in breach of this policy shall be asked to leave, delete any recordings made and forfeit any fees paid
20.2. Scout youth members shall not be recorded or photographed by visitors for any purpose.
20.3. Drones are not permitted to be flown on Scout property without prior approval.
21. Breach of terms and conditions
21.1. By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions of stay, you acknowledge that you are responsible for any and all of your guests, and equipment that are bought into the Camping Grounds. If you or your visitors breach any of the above terms and conditions, you may be asked to leave the campsite and no refund will be given.
