HOW TO GUIDE TO APPLYING


The Sport and Recreation Disaster Recovery Program supports not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations with funding to re-establish their facilities and activities after extreme natural events, including floods, fire, cyclones and severe storms.

Eligibility:

You must be located in an area declared under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) – Funding locations listed HERE
It is recommended that you contact your local Sport and Recreation Region Office if you have any queries regarding eligibility.


Purpose:

  1. replacement of damaged equipment that directly relates to the re-establishment of activities (including office and canteen equipment)
  2. payment of services and hire costs, and purchase of equipment and tools that assist in short term clean-up of facilities
  3. reimbursement for the purchase of the above made from the date of the relevant disaster
  4. funds for repairs and replacements when this amount is lower than the premium excess set by the insurance provider
  5. excess coverage for insurance claims

Applications:

Formations who have reported to the Scouts Queensland Facilities Team that they experienced damage in the recent weather event are eligible to apply to this grant.

QBSI 6.5 grant application requirements regarding the need to have up to date Finance and Property Returns are waived on this occasion due to the urgent nature of the funding required.  These exceptions do not apply to any other grant funds.  Approvals from District and Region Commissioners are still required.

In the Available Rounds select: Disaster Recovery Program (Level 1)
  1. Click on: View
  2. Select: Begin Application
  3. Complete the first section as follows:


    1. Main Contact for project: enter Group Leader details here
    2. Physical address: enter the physical address at which the damage occurred
    3. Disaster Recovery Need: complete this section
    4. Select: the declared disaster
    5. Outline the damage: (no more than 250 words)
    6. Attach relevant photos
    7. Attach the Excel Spreadsheet: complete and attach the template attached to this article.

    Note: please enter values excluding GST


    1. Enter the total value of the request as indicated in the budget spreadsheet (max $5k)



  1. Bank Details: The Grants Officer will complete this Section and attach the EFT form and bank statement
  2. Declaration: The Grants Officer will complete this Section on behalf of the Chief Commissioner as the Approving Officer.
  3. Terms and conditions: tick box to confirm.
  4. Save All & Exit
