HOW TO GUIDE TO APPLYING

The Sport and Recreation Recovery Grant is a joint Australian Government and Queensland Government funding initiative supporting not-for-profit sport and active recreation organisations with funding to clean up and repair or replace equipment or facilities damaged as a direct result of the South East Queensland rainfall and flooding (22 February – 7 March 2022).

Eligibility:
You must be located in an area declared under the Queensland Governments Disaster Management for the South East Queensland Rainfall and Flooding (22 February – 7 March 2022) event. 

Eligible organisations, including multisport and regional organisations, can only submit one application for this program unless otherwise approved by the department.  Scouts Queensland will oversee how this grant fund is accessed on behalf of the organisation.

Applicants must demonstrate:
  1. insurance was not able to be obtained for infrastructure or equipment damaged or insurance claimed up to the cap of the policy.
  2. have applied for SRDRP Level 1 $5,000 grant
  3. have applied for maximum QRIDA $50,000 grant

Purpose: Works to repair/replace sport and recreation items and infrastructure (e.g. clubhouse, field of play, lighting, indoor courts, etc) damaged by the event and required for the re-establishment of activities in place prior to the event and/or works that mitigate/improve resilience of the sport and recreation infrastructure to the effects of future flood events.


Applications:
Formations who have reported to the Scouts Queensland Facilities Team that they experienced damage in the recent weather event are eligible to be considered for this grant. However only one application can be submitted by the organisation and the decision will be made by Scouts Queensland based on organisation priorities.
