Invitation to join email and flyer templates

The below templates are provided as optional materials that can be used to send to prospective Members inviting them to complete their application online. Two invitation email templates are provided, one for prospective Youth Members and another for Adult Members. 

Customisable ‘Become a Member’ flyer

A ‘Become a Member’ flyer to customise and distribute to the potential applicants has been developed and is available to download using the link at the bottom of this page.

You can download the PDF customisable flyer at the bottom of this article. Use Adobe Acrobat or a suitable PDF application to fill in the custom field with your Group name and Section. Then, print out (or email) the flyer and distribute it to prospective members to help them select the right Group/Formation when completing their application.




Prospective Youth member including Rovers

Subject: Welcome to Scouts Queensland - {Group Name}

Dear {Prospective member first name}

I am pleased to formally invite you to become a {Classification} with {Group Name}.

To accept the invitation and join Scouting in Queensland please click on the link below and complete all required details. When complete please submit the form. The application will be returned to me for checking and endorsement.

Alternatively, go to the Scouts Queensland website at https://scoutsqld.com.au, click on the Apply for Membership option on the front page.

If the applicant is 18 years or over, they will need to obtain a Queensland Blue Card prior to completing this application. You need to apply online via the Blue Card Services website. You will need the Blue Card Services Online Account number that you will be issued for your Membership application. Once Scouts Queensland has linked to your account, you will need to finalise your Blue Card application. Your Membership cannot be approved until you have been issued a Blue Card.

Payment of membership fees for (name) will be required within 28 days of your application being submitted. An invoice will be sent to you by the Group / from Scouts Queensland. (delete the option not used).

Prospective Adult member

Subject: Welcome to Scouts Queensland - {Group Name}

Dear {Prospective member first name}

I am pleased to formally invite you to become a volunteer Member with Scouts Queensland as a {role} with {Group Name}.

To accept the invitation and join Scouting in Queensland as a volunteer, please click on the link below and complete all required details. When complete please submit the form. The application will be returned to me for checking and endorsement including contacting the referees you will nominate on the application form.

Alternatively, go to the Scouts Queensland website at https://scoutsqld.com.au, click on the Apply for Membership option on the front page.

You will need to have a current Blue Card OR obtain a Blue Card Account number, details of which needs to be added when you complete the application. If you do not have a current Blue Card, you can apply for a Blue Card Account via the Blue Card Services website. If you have provided a Blue Card Account number, we will link you to Scouts Queensland, and you will need to log back into your account and submit an application. If you have a current Blue Card, we will use that information to link you to Scouts Queensland and verify the details. Your membership cannot be approved until you hold a current Blue Card.
