How to register Bushwalks

Adventurous Activities – Register of Bushwalks

Bushwalking activity supervision and support framework is to ensure youth members stay safe when undertaking bushwalks. The intention is that all bushwalks are suitably planned and supported based on the type bushwalk.  Scouts Qld will maintain a Bushwalk register which contains walks and associated plans, that have been developed with a model supervision, which does not require a supervision approval and can be undertaken with a support model in line with this QBSI Section.

We need your help!

The only way to get this register up and running is for both adult and youth members to nominate bushwalks that they have undertaken to populate the database. Once a walk has been nominated the plans will be reviewed and if approved, they will be published for others to access and undertake without further Guide approval.

How to register your walk

Access an MS form via the QR Code or link below and complete a form providing details of your nominated walk .

“The purpose of this form is to nominate a bushwalk to be reviewed and endorsed by a Panel of Scouts Qld Bushwalking Guides to be used for the context they are categorised in for use by Youth Members without having to seek further approval from a Scout Qld Bushwalking Guide before utilising these walks for Achievement Pathway Activities. All Activities are still to be reviewed and approved by the normal activity approval process and a tailored risk assessment is to be undertaken for the activity prior to approval.”

Question 10 requests you to upload any documentation (maps, activity plans, route cards) into this share folder (https://scoutsqld.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/qldbranchadvactivities/EkV82Cl-uUhKpikGBsmbIJMBiOQxOKpfKze-Es0C6pPLig?e=6eviTO ) and write your created folder name in the Form to enable us to link the activity plans to the register.

For example

The nominated bushwalking plans will then be removed from this folder and send to a Guide for review and approval.

If the bushwalk is approved, it will be published on the Support Hub under Adventurous Activities  https://helpdesk.scoutsqld.com.au/portal/en/kb
