Entering a Campsite Booking - Scout Unit

Introduction

This how to guide applies to all scouting formations, which includes but may not be limited to: Patrols, Units, Groups, Districts, or regions 
Scout Queensland has implemented an online for managing bookings around select campsites, activity centres and equipment hire. The purpose of this purpose of this document is to provide a step-by-step guide, for scouts leaders to place a booking into the online system.

 

Camping Website

The booking website can be found at https://camping.scoutsqld.com.au/
This website will include the location and contact information for each branch managed campsites. It also includes links to camping equipment hire and hire of OAS equipment. 

Select Campsite

Scroll down the page to find the required site. 
If the site you are looking for is not listed, it may be a region or district managed campsite. In this case click on the “Campsites Near Me” Button at the top of the page.
This will bring up a list of all campsites state-wide with the respective contact information

Otherwise find the respective. This will show the address, contact information and a summary of the facilities onsite. Click on the button “ SCOUTING UNIT BOOK NOW


This will open the scouts only booking page:



Check-in Check-out date

As a first step for entering your booking information, select your start and end date:


Start Date is the date you will arrive on-site
End Date is the date you will leave the site



The system will show you what sites are available, and what may be sold out



Select Booking Item

Of the available items, select the main area you will be staying by clinking on the “Book Now” button

Confirm the Check-in and Check-out dates, enter the quantity of people who will be staying


Note that if your group does not fit in the available space, your group may need to book an adjoining site.
Please take note of any site-specific information, especially as it relates to access arrangement or available resources  

You will this be directed to the “Create Booking” Page

Add additional items

To book additional areas, equipment of facilities by clicking on the “+ Add to Booking” button

This will take you back to that specific campsite booking page. You can continue to add available items until you have everything your need for your camp/activity
Note that some sites will have OAS equipment and facilities available to book
If you do not secure equipment or facilities through the booking portal you cannot guarantee it will be available.

Booking an activity area

Activity areas will generally only be available for blocks of time, if this is the case you will be given the opportunity to select your preferred time from what is available.

Depending on the campsite and the activity area, the cost of booking will sometimes be included in your accommodation/camping fee. For items may include a fee, this will be show at the time of booking.
Any group not staying overnight at the site, will be required to pay Day Use fees. This should come up as an option when booking the activity area. You select this by clinking the “+” next to the appropriate fee

Some activity areas may prompt you to consider optional equipment, this will normally come at an extra cost. The same as the day use fee, you select this by clinking the “+” next to the appropriate item

You would then need to confirm either the number of participants or quantity of items required 

Finalise Booking

All items should now been added to the booking.

Add the Customer information
Note that the Customer Name should be the name of the Scout formation


Review and confirm the terms and condition and click "Continue" At this point you should see receive a booking confirmation to the email supplied as well as on the web browser
