SpacetoCo - Updating Invoices for GST changes

For any groups that are no longer registering for GST, the settings are managed at the individual Host account level:

  • How to change it: Simply go to the Account Settings for that specific hall/group and toggle the "Registered for GST" setting to Off.
  • In the Bio field – write a couple of words – this will trigger the Save Changes button to activate.

The Result: Once toggled off, GST will no longer be applied to the invoices or receipts generated for their customers.

How GST is treated moving forward There is one important distinction to keep in mind regarding the GST you pay to SpacetoCo:

  • On Bookings: If a group toggles GST "Off," they stop charging GST to their guests.
  • On Commissions: Because SpacetoCo is a GST-registered entity, we are still required to charge GST on the commission fees we provide.
  • Tax Claims: If a group is not GST-registered, they will still pay the GST on our commission (similar to buying supplies at a retail store), but they won't be able to claim that GST back from the ATO.

This setup allows each group under the Scouts QLD umbrella to remain compliant based on their specific tax status.
