Stripe Account Management

Stripe Account Management

Scouts Queensland’s preferred practice for Stripe accounts is that both Gaylene Bell (g.bell@scoutsqld.com.au) and Jim Harrop (financesupport@scoutsqld.com.au) should have access to all Formation Stripe accounts.

This ensures we can:

  • Provide support with enquiries and technical settings
  • Assist with account linking and configuration
  • Maintain continuity when volunteer roles change (we have recently seen several groups lose access to their Stripe accounts)
  • Accounts remain managed by the Formation. The State Office role is to provide ongoing support, assist with access issues, and enable eligibility for potential fees discounting.

 Then:

  • If they are already a Super Administrator or Administrator
  • If they are not yet a Super Administrator
    1. Update their role to Super Administrator and click Save

 Additional Benefit – Centralised Pricing

Stripe can offer custom or discounted pricing based on total transaction volume across accounts.

If all groups transfer account ownership to the Scouts Queensland Finance Manager (g.bell@scoutsqld.com.au), this will enable:

  • Aggregation of total revenue across the organisation
  • Access to reduced fees
  • Cost savings passed on to groups

Stripe also offers Point of Sale and Card reader options for use for fundraising, etc. With the goal in mind to consolidate all credit card transactions through one provider to use reduce fees as much as possible, we will look at testing options that may be suitable for Formations.
