Why does my Group/Formation have to pay for the training up front?

Under the rules of the Queensland Government funding initiative, participants can only seek financial support for training that is actually completed not training that is planned for completion.

When do I have to complete the training and when can my group claim?

The invoice payment and the reimbursement must occur within the term of the funding – between 14 February 2024 and 31 December 2024.  If you have already completed an eligible training program that falls within these dates, your Group/Formation may claim reimbursement using the above process.  To be eligible to receive reimbursement, participants must complete all aspects of the Program (pre-course, on-course and post-course), it is not sufficient to only attend the face-to-face course.

How to use up the balance of my allocation?

Groups/Formations are entitled to claim part payment for programs completed by eligible participants. For example, a participant could claim $160 towards a weekend course, and then later claim $40 towards the cost of a one-day course.

Can I seek reimbursement for direct credit transfer?

Yes, eligible members can seek reimbursement for the direct credit transfer fee (recognition by Scouts QLD) for Units of Competency that are obtained outside of Scouting for relevant pursuit areas.
