Emails, chat history and files in OneDrive and SharePoint will be migrated across. However, because this process requires us to move documents and files to a new location, the links to the old location will no longer work. Once the migration is complete, navigate to
https://portal.office.com and select the app launcher (nine squares in the top left corner) to access SharePoint or OneDrive and bookmark your new links from there.
All emails sent to the old @scoutsqld.com.au addresses will automatically be forwarded to your new @scoutsqld.au after the cutover time of 8am on 28 April 2026.
There is no impact - you keep using those logins with your old email @scoutsqld.com.au address. We are not likely to change the email logins for Consent2Go as part of this process however, that decision may change after the migration process has concluded.
Your OneNote files will sync across to the national system, but they will not be open when you access the app. You will need to go to the file location in SharePoint, OneDrive, or Teams and open the file. It will then appear in the OneNote app.
Old account still appearing.
There are some cases where the old account will still appear and programs will try to use it to sign in. Depending on where it is appearing, one of these sets of instructions will resolve the issue.
Outlook Webmail selecting the old account by default.
You may experience an issue where the old account is still used instead of the new one in Outlook, OneDrive, or other web versions of apps. This is likely because the profile is still present in your web browser.
The following instructions are for Microsoft Edge, though other browsers will have similar options.
With your web browser open, click on the options menu in the top right corner then open Settings.
On the first page of Settings, there will be the Profiles list, and your old account will be there. If the Sign out option is there, click it first, then click the bin icon to delete the profile. If it says Sign in instead, you can just click the bin and delete.
You will then need to fully close all browser windows and reopen them again. This should remove the account completely.
Programs (e.g. Teams) trying to sign in as the old account.
First, with other Microsoft 365 programs closed, open Windows Settings then Accounts, then Access work or school.
The old address with .com will appear in a list on that page, click on it to open the options and click on Disconnect.
Outlook for Desktop requesting repeat sign-ins
If you have the old scoutsqld.com.au account signed in on your desktop version of Outlook (With another paid account logged in), you may experience an issue where Outlook will repeatedly ask you to enter the password for that account and not allow you to remove it. Following these steps should allow you to remove it and prevent the sign-in requests.
Make sure that Outlook is closed, then Open the Windows Control Panel. If you cannot find this, use the search feature and search for Control Panel.
In the Control Panel, select User Accounts, then Mail (Microsoft Outlook).
In the window that appears, select Email Accounts... pick the old account in the list then click Remove.
You will need to make sure that another email account is set as the default by selecting it, then clicking Set as Default first.
